Join us for an out-of-this-world experience! Be among the first to experience North America’s northernmost planetarium. Enjoy a guided tour of the Alaska night sky and preview immersive fulldome shows. Discover space through hands-on activities, explore galleries with a scavenger hunt, and more!

Planetarium seating is limited. First come, first served. All planetarium entries will be ticketed. Tickets will be available beginning at 11am.

How much does it cost?

  • Admission is free on April 25!

Where do I park?

  • The museum's main lot is behind the building. Extra parking on campus includes nearby lots at the Reichardt Building, Arctic Health, or other campus lots. Parking on campus is free on weekends.

What will I see?

  • Guests will be able to have a short experience (~15 minutes) in the planetarium, under the dome. You will see a mini star show from our planetarians and previews of our fulldome feature films. Tickets are required.

How do I get a ticket for the dome?

  • Tickets are first come, first served. All tickets for the day will be available starting at 11am. 

When are dome shows?

  • Dome shows start at 11:20am and run every 20 minutes. The last show will be at 3:40pm.

What else is happening?

  • Galleries will be open. Hands-on activities will be offered from UAMN and the Geophysical Institute. There will be a photo booth, cookies (while they last!), and fun!

What if I want to see a full-length planetarium show?

We will be open starting on April 26 with daily showings of our fulldome shows! You can purchase advance tickets during the Grand Opening. Alternatively, you can come by any day April 26 or later and purchase a ticket to enjoy a show. See admission prices here. (Show schedules coming soon!)
