Alaska Summer Research Academy accepting applications

The Alaska Summer Research Academy at the ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈÊÓƵ is accepting applications through March 31 for its day-only middle and high school program, July 20-July 31, 2015.
Students accepted into the summer program will spend two weeks with a small group and two instructors exploring a topic in science, engineering, math or technology. The program is offered through the UAF ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈÊÓƵ of Natural Science and Mathematics.
The middle school program is for students who will be in grades 6 to 8 in the fall of 2015. The high school program is for students who will be in grades 9 to 12 in the fall of 2015. Scholarships may be available for qualified students.
There are four middle school modules:
- Permafrost — Secrets in Ice
- Chickenology
- Computer Science and Web Development
- Remotely Operated Vehicles
There are eight high school modules including
- Archaeology*
- Biomedicine
- Blimps 101
- Engineering Extreme Energy
- Jellies, Octopuses, Seastars, Oh My!*
- Mr. Monk and The Tale of Mice and Men
- One Health
- Veterinary Medicine
*These two modules include a 6-day expedition.
