We need scientists and other professionals in the STEM fields to view posters and costumes
at the Colors of Nature exhibit on Friday, July 17, from 2 to 3 p.m. in the Murie
Building lobby. Girls going into 5th, 6th and 7th grades blended the art and science
of color to create the costumes.
The ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈÊÓƵ of Natural Science and Mathematics hosts the the Colors of Nature summer
academy. It is a two-week program where girls interested in art explore the physics
and biology of color. They then apply what they've learned to artistic endeavors including
their final project — designing and making costumes.
If you would like to attend, RSVP to Colors of Nature summer academy director Laura
Conner at ldconner@alaska.edu. For more information about the program, go to .
