¾Ã¾ÃÈÈÊÓƵ Road will be closed for three weeks between Caribou Way, across from the Farmers Market, and the east end of Old ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈÊÓƵ Road, at the Aurora Motel, beginning Thursday, June 4, according to the Alaska Department of Transportation.

The closure will come as part of the department's rehabilitation of ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈÊÓƵ Road. HC Contractors Inc. is doing the work, which also includes reconstruction of ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈÊÓƵ Road's intersection with Antoinette and Margaret Avenues in the Lemeta subdivision area.

Construction on the entire project will take place from Tuesday, June 2, to mid-October 2015. HC Contractors will repave ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈÊÓƵ Road from University Avenue to Maryleigh Avenue and add sidewalks, new lights and marking. The planned new intersection of Margaret and Antoinette avenues with ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈÊÓƵ Road is designed to improve traffic flow and safety.

A public open house will be held 4-6 p.m. Friday, June 5, in Artisan's Courtyard, 1755 Westwood Way. Project staff will be on hand to answer questions about traffic impacts and the construction schedule.
