Week’s events: UAF zoology, testosterone talk, Alaska farming, string tunes

�þ��Ƶ Summer Sessions and Lifelong Learning is hosting 40 free lectures, concerts and other events this summer. Here is what’s happening during the week ahead:

• On Monday, Aug. 5, the Down Memory Lane interview series will include a discussion with Ron Smith, retired UAF professor of zoology. Veteran journalist Robert Hannon will conduct the interview, which will be at 7 p.m. in the Murie Building auditorium.
• On Tuesday, Aug. 6, the Healthy Living lecture series will feature endocrinologist Muhammad Ahmed, on “Is Testosterone Replacement A Panacea for Middle Aged Men?” The lecture will be at 7 p.m. at the Murie Building auditorium.
• On Wednesday, Aug. 7, the Discover Alaska lecture series will feature Mike Emers, owner of Rosie Creek Farm. Emers will discuss “From Cabbage to Cannabis: Twenty Years on a Subarctic Farm.” The lecture will be at 7 p.m. at the Murie Building auditorium.
• On Thursday, Aug. 8, the Music in the Garden concert series will host the E.T. Barnette String Band. Music begins at 7 p.m. in the Georgeson Botanical Garden.
