The UAF Cooperative Extension Anchorage Outreach Center serves Anchorage, Alaska’s largest city, with nearly 40% of the state’s population. Anchorage schools are among the most varied in the country. While 75% of school families speak English, the remaining 25% speak 100 different languages, such as Spanish, Hmong, Samoan and Filipino.
The district offers outreach programs in agriculture and horticulture; health, home and family development; integrated pest management; nutrition; and 4-H and youth development.

Join Mat-Su Master Gardener President Jenny Weaver as she explains the fundamentals of gardening in Alaska. This free class will be held in person at the UAF Matanuska Experiment Farm and Extension Center, 1509 S. Georgeson Drive, Palmer, as well as via Zoom.

Join the Matanuska Experiment Farm and Extension Center for a Seed Swap! Bring seed packets to swap (they do not need to be new/unopened) and take some seed packets home with you! Along with seeds, we will have information about our Community Garden space, upcoming classes, what&/ces/districts/anchorage/39;s happening in our community, and more!

Drop in any time during the designated hours. Try something new in your garden this summer! If you&/ces/districts/anchorage/39;d like to donate seeds beforehand, please drop them off at Kerttula Hall between 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m. on Monday and 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Tuesday -Friday.

The Delta Farm Forum is an annual event for the Interior Alaska agriculture and farming community. The 2026 event is the 54th annual forum. Throughout the day, relevant information will be presented from agricultural producers, scientists and researchers, representatives from businesses and agricultural agencies. A sit-down potluck luncheon will be served from noon-1:30 p.m., and door prizes from our sponsors are given away throughout the day. Must be present to win!

This event is free and open to the public.
Main dishes, potato & dinner rolls will be provided by our sponsors. Guests are asked to follow this schedule when bringing a dish: A-F = vegetable or fruit, G-L = desserts, M-R = pasta or rice, S-Z = salads.
