The UAF Cooperative Extension Anchorage Outreach Center serves Anchorage, Alaska鈥檚 largest city, with nearly 40% of the state鈥檚 population. Anchorage schools are among the most varied in the country. While 75% of school families speak English, the remaining 25% speak 100 different languages, such as Spanish, Hmong, Samoan and Filipino.
The district offers outreach programs in agriculture and horticulture; health, home and family development; integrated pest management; nutrition; and 4-H and youth development.
